Bass Guitarist

When you listen or watch a band play music, what often catches the attention of every viewer is the lead singer, him being the front and sometimes the drummer and lead guitarist are mostly noticed for being cool. But over those people, there’s still the Bass Guitarist who supports the band despite frequently being overshadowed by other players.
Like food, every player in a band contributes greatly to its success. A band will not be complete when it’s lacking melody, rhythm and dynamics that comes from every person the band possess. Though sometimes overlooked, Bass guitarist are great players that makes the music whole. The deep tone their bass possess is what puts depth to music. Without proper timing of plucking the strings of a bass, the song will practically be off. One of the most known Bass Guitarist that was never overshadowed by his fellow players is Paul McCartney of the Beatles. The depth he puts in to the music their band made was an important contribution to the great pillar they pondered in their years in the music industry. There’s also Jack Bruce, the bass guitarist of the “Cream” where Eric Clapton was their singer and guitarist. At that time, Eric Clapton was so great that players with him are sometimes overlooked but in the case of Jack Bruce, that didn’t stop him. He was also voted as 8th of the best Bass Guitarist of all time.
Being a bass guitarist is not so easy. Having only four strings unlike the lead guitar or rhythm guitar that has six strings doesn’t make it easier to play. That fact was also proven to me when I played bass with my band. I am a rhythm guitarist and I tried the bass out. In just a few songs, my hands were already red and suffering from the thick strings the bass possess. It just proves that every part of a band must be played with conviction and that every instrument is important. The Lead Singer, The Drummer, The Lead and Rhythm Guitarist and The Bass Guitarist, it is what completes a band.
