Basic Factors as a Bass guitarist
A bass guitar was designed to play lower notes in music and as a bass guitarist it is important to know the parts of a bass guitar. Here are some parts that a bass guitarist must know. First are the tuning heads also known as “tuners” or “machine heads”. Each string controls one string on the bass. If the bass guitarist tightens or loosens the tuner it will make the pitch of the bass higher or lower. Head stock is a part of the bass guitar where the tuning heads are attached to. Neck is the longest part of the bass guitar this is where a bass guitarist holds with his fretting hand. Fretboard or “fingerboard” is the foundation for the frets; the bass guitarist presses the string down to fingerboard to create a note. Frets are strips made from metal fixed along bass guitar’s fretboard. If the bass guitarist presses the string on a fret a specific note results. Body is the largest part of a bass guitar it has a cosmetic appeal and serves as a base for attachment for the other parts. Volume and Control these do exactly what you would expect. One controls the volume and other one controls for the tone (some bass has more than one control for the tone). Bridge is the part of the bass that holds the strings at the opposite end of the bass from the nut and same as nut it has channel for each string and raises the strings so they can vibrate freely and separately
One of the members in a band is the bass guitarist and as a part of the band he must know how to play his sound compliment to the other members, they should have perfect dynamics to produce a beautiful sound. Dynamics tackles the loudness and softness of sound (volume). Its main purpose is to emphasize the loud and soft part of music.
Bass guitarist is different from lead or acoustic guitarist simply because lead or acoustic guitar is different from bass guitar. The bass guitarist plays an octave lower than the guitarist, the pitch range of the two instruments are different. Next thing is the role, the bass guitarist supports along with the drummer to create a good pulse and set’s the foundation of the music guitarist also plays a supporting role but solos are more common on guitar. It is where the bass guitarist holds with his fretting hand. Another is the playing style. The bass guitarist plays one note at a time (basic) but for the guitarist you must play it in chords (up to six notes at a time)
Bass guitarist is important in every band. As a musician my notion is that if the bass guitarist is out of tune the band is dead. A single mistake from a bass guitarist could ruin band performance.
